Product Review Article ...
A short follow-up on the P.I. Generation II Sport Hydro...
We ran the Hydro with a 6717/3 prop. The setup was left exactly as it was delivered from Accurate racing. The first few runs weren’t successful as we were having problems finding the proper needle adjustments on the carburetor. Once we finally got the engine dialed in close the boat started to move. The handling was very good. The boat was solid in turns and was pretty fast in the straights. We didn’t get top speed out of the hydro however because it was trimmed for oval racing (very tight) and it hopped in the straights since the water was so flat. In some wake it would definitely loosen up some and be much faster.
All in all the boat performed well, and after some more fine tuning will be even better. Steph also did a great job with the paint on the boat. It’s hard to see in the pictures, but the flame patterns on the side are actually done with a tricolor paint that changes colors in the sunlight, its very cool!
*** please note: Accurate Racing are no longer in business thus the P.I. hydro manufactured by Accurate Racing is no longer availlable for purchase.
Here are a few action shots and stills of the boat.
