I just received this from Tony
at Warehouse Hobbies:
Here is our work in progress for
the new Enforcer Classic Thunderboat Hydro we are building.
The deck is based on our popular
Stingray hydro hull that fits the size requirements for the IMPBA and NAMBA
sanction classes. 50" -L X 25" -W
The boat can reach speeds in the
mid-50's with G260 and tuned exhaust. The boat is very predictable and
more stable than conventional 3-point hydro designs.
It runs very well in rougher
water conditions.
The deck and drivers / hatch were
modeled after the Valumart and Schweppes boats of the 60's. They feature a
"French" cut shovel nose and a cover for the Merlin / now Zenoah
engine, a very nice feature considering the engine must be covered deemed by
the rules.
We are also making a hatch that
will show the engine for those that want to make a Merlin engine model to cover
the Zenoah engine. (I may even make a kit for that in the future)?
The size is loosely scaled
between 1/7th and 1/8th so our driver figure, dashboard, and chrome gauges,
steering wheel and fittings kit can be used to really make this boat stand out.
We are offering a couple
different rear fin choices that feature a clean-break-away design to limit
damage (if and when) the boat blows or rolls in the heat of competition.
There is also an air intake vent
on the carburetor and exhaust side and we make 1" X 4" aluminum vents
that will install over the air intake holes, (looks great)!
I also designed a new
exhaust header (7/8" o.d. aluminum) that will place the tuned pipe
inside the hull under the deck to the left of the left stringer. This header
can also be used with most other manufactures similar designed (twin
O-ring) tuned pipes.
I am really excited about this
project more-so than I have been in a long time partly because my son Tony (age
22) joined our force a few months back and my other boy Mike (age 21) is
leaving the racing world to come back to dad's business. Tony and Mike are
both so talented and It's good to have them both back home. WHH just found
another gear, who knows how far these two will take her.
Nothing like young blood and
talent with a vested interest.
Thanks for your interest about our
new boat and thanks for the great job you do with MGB, it is a premier place
for model boaters to get great information.
Thank you,
Tony Castronovo
