Simple Oiler or Greaser was created by Canadian Hot Rod RC Boats
I see a few guys looking for 'greaser's' and oilers - here's a few simple ways I make mine - I use a small hand pump greaser or oilers - I don't think they (the adapter on tubing) need to be huge mine are pretty compact

Here's a few :) 3 diff types I use

I make mine from 1/2 bar stock - I drill a 5/16 hole in center then 2 x M4 ... 90 degrees apart

I use a short M4 fitting and cap it when not using it

found a few 90 degree too

simple for a tank if u want a oiler

To make it even easier .... I noticed this in my tool box (old Arrow Shark shaft saver - alum )
cgi.ebay.ca/Arrow-Shark-Shaft-...=item518f747055

Already has one 1/4" center hole and a M4 side bolt/screw - mine's a used 1

opened it up (slowly ...) 1/4" to 5/16"

to keep this simple I retaped (cleaned threads) hole to M4 and used a short M4 fitting - I taped 5/16" tubing with M4 too so fitting screws thru (need to deburr inside tube
no allen set screw on this one
I polished it and left one side Red so u could see the Arrow Shark one

simple and clean (I think...........

later

Oh and I use Red loctite on the fittings and set screw ( a touch of heat to take them off ..) and they seem to stay well

Now I just need some of Scott's cool ball valves and small tank ... ... ;)

I use this type Pro Boat greaser with diff grease

ive done the same...but using a split collar. No set screw to dent the stuffing tube. I dont use it anymore though...got tired of the mess the oil constantly made.

Hi Canadian.

What a beautiful oiler setup on your pics!
Actually I have invented almost precisely the same for my own unfinished mono.
I have 3 of the same oiler(s) as you. One for the gearbox and two for the twin tubes to the twin drives.
Only thing is that I won't be able to get such a fine CNC design on the bar as you are presenting, and I consider threading the nippels in order to make a connection with a small piece of inside threaded metal tube from oiler to driveshaft.
My intention is NOT to put "shutting valves" to the oilers. When the boat is at rest, I'll simply attach a little piece of tape on the hole on top of the oiler. That should prevent oil from dripping out through the driveshafts. Well that's the theory.
Anyway: Good job. Its very inspiring!

Cheers! :cheer:

Woodie.

I stop the oil or grease mess from inside by using a 1/4" nylon washer up against stuffing tube and usually put small pc hose or ziptie against washer to hold washer against tube
hose works better - but the nylon washer stops alot of the mess

I also only use .029 wall tubing so the M4 set screw on side of fitting barely makes a mark on tube - def does not 'dent' it

I use small containers so not a issue to drain it out

to grease just hold nylon washer against stuffing tube and with a needle tip (on grease gun I use) just pump it in ... then a antenna cap makes a good cover for nipple
