WeedEater help was created by mewrongway
Hello,

I am looking for information on using a Stihl or homelite motor. I am new to this
and do not understand how the drive cable is connected to the motor. Any help is
appriciated!
Thanks,
Darrell

First, Welcome to the addicting sport/ hobby or RC model boating and too MGB.

In applications where an actual Weed Wacker type engine will be used, those chosen typically have a clutch and connect to string head via an @ 1/4" flex cable.
These clutchs have a female drive socket and cable used is swedged into a 4 sided square end that slides in. Our boats can use as well this type cable drive making the connection easy at the engine end.
Our more advanced purpose built engines such as Zenoah, CY/Sikk & RCMK have commercially built square drive or compression type connectors for using cable drives.
