VERY old subject talked about a bunch .... NO they do not work as advertised, or actually work at all.
The design has merit for which it was designed tho ... REED valve induction 2 strokes where the chamber dampened intake tract resonance allow faster opening and closing of the reed petals. In our piston port engines 100% snake oil :S
