Patrik. How is that engine coming that you was working on? RUSS

Sorry for the very off topic interludium. Tested the engine a little, very promising. Over an hour runtime and reeds are still fine. Twisted two cranks though, the CY cranks of the batch I got don't seem to cope with more than 20k rpm. I must be more carefull about not setting the carb to lean.
Only radio setup here now.

Both times the crank warped I was dry revving it on land, not sustained rev but one second throttle snaps, usually only just out revs the tiny tach at 20k but if the carb is lean it will rev substantially more. I think of this as a minor problem. I am pleased to find that the myth about reed engines don't rev does'nt seem to apply to my design. But I have to do more testing, land rev is nothing, it's on the water that results are measured. Also I am pleased that my reed petals have lived longer than the very short life span reported from some setups.
I have worked more with the boat and hardware than with the engine. The engine just sits there and works. I have not had the opportunity to compare it with another engine yet. I have broken some rudder setups and spend time on developing a carbon fiber transom hardware configuration.
I look forward to be able to spend more time on the engine that that makes me smile every time It comes on the pipe, savage

Note, there are pics of other projects there to, you'll know when you are looking at the billet reed case.
Broke free the first composite transom piece today, racy stuff.

In the meantime, you can see Patrik's original post on this subject on page 2 of this section. That's what he was trying to link to I think.
