dual wet pipes

I'm thinking of useing copper pipe to make a dual exhaust on my new project. My question is , if I use a wet exhaust system will soldering the joints together work or will it get too hot and melt the solder?

The solder should be fine. Many guys made headers out of copper pipe fitting soldered together for homelite engines and they work fine. The header gets the hottest.

I would use silver solder that requires more heat to melt. Also you MUST inject water in the header if you are making the header using this method. Any soldered joints prior to the water injection will be subject to very high temperatures and could melt...I've tried a dry header with regular solder when I first started out and didn't last more than a few minutes before coming apart. Not sure which grade of silver solder you would need though...wish I had that information, but hopefully someone who knows will chime in. If you are simply planning on making dual outlets AFTER a wet pipe setup, I can't see that being a problem at all. That I have done and it worked just fine.

I've built a lot of pipes with silver solder (Cadmium-free High-fill Silver Brazing Alloy, 1225-1370 Deg F Melting Range). Since the pipe needs to get nearly red hot to melt the solder, water cooling isn't needed.
