8 oz per US gallon is about 16:1. We have tested 10:1 with some power loss in a Quickdraw at high rpm. 13:1 still seems ok, but we normally run 16:1 for heat racing and straight line work. When we tested alcohol based fuel, we ran boat fuel that was 18% oil. That would be 5.5:1, and that is considered normal for glow engines. I think the issue is fairly complicated, but mostly you richen up the mixture a little to allow the same amount of fuel in.

:)HI Lohring
Thanks again. I will try the 16:1 mix. I am the agent in SA for CY engines (SIKK). So I will try the mix with this engine as well as a Zenoah. We have seen that the stock CY has more power than a stock Zenoah, so it will be very interesting to see the power difference from the 40:1 mixes that we used.
I mentioned the fuel ratios to other "PROS" at the dam, and they didn't think much of it. I'm excited to see the outcome.

You won't see a huge difference in heat racing. It shows up if you test carefully against a radar gun or GPS, and it makes a difference in straight line speed runs. Because the power required increases as the cube of speed, big changes in power only result in small changes in speed.

Has anyone tried the MORGAN oils, 2-stroke carting oil in the boat engines? The same oil can be used in Nitro engines. We supplied some to some top onroad races here and they claim a 20 deg C drop in running temp!
Morgan has the CP-07? friction modifier additive which they make certain claims about.
I want to try it in my CY26 but I hope someone else has some experience with it compared to other oil like MOTUL 800?
It is the GOLD/with castor blend....

I got a Dyno together and have been dyno testing motors for a couple of months now with some good resaults . noticing any small change done to the motor transfered to the dyno graph . I personally run 40:1 oil mixture with a special proto type oil . The motor is one of the fastest Zenoah's in the club and has run for over a season with now breakages and only running Wear. The If you want to do proper testing put it on the Dyno. My Hydro ran at 114.8km/h at 1500meters altitude running a 40:1 ratio . I am not saying any body is wrong but this ratio works for me . maybe the oil is Good .One of the fastest boats in South Africa Running A ZEN.
