It is doable like the homelites were once done. Your really kinda on your own having to fabricate something one off for your application.

I was thinking of cutting the drive shaft from the trimmer and getting a flex coupler that would be adapter to the proper flex drive. Is this a good idea.
Also, whats the bracket just over the driveshaft for in your last photo?

Thanks for the reply and the pictures, Martno1fan, i,ve got some ideas for the mounts after looking at yours. What kind of plating did you use, looking at the photos it almost looks like galvanized steel from an electrical junction box. The fitting on the shaft is a female 7 tooth opening and measures about 5/16" diameter. Is their a flex cable that is set up this way? from what I have found its either square or round.

Hi can you post a pic of your output shaft? i think the part your talking about will maybe come off ?.You will deff need some kind of collet be it square or round.The bracket you mentioned on my last pic i asume you mean the t bar with the little oiler? thats there to keep the flex tube from moving you can make a plywood tube holder also,as for the mounts i used alluminium angle.
