Stop Me From Making a Mistake?

I even have small drain holes in the sponsons of my scale hydro and I also ways have a acouple of decent sized tdraimn holes in the transom as well. Water comes in.........and goes straight out.

You just need to put more flotation inside the boat so you don't lose it when she stops.

Just a thought , if you do fit autobailers at the bottom of each sponson then it may be a good idea to keep them flush with the back face of the sponson so it doesnt create any drag or disruption, I have been thinking of doing something similar, be good to hear how you get on as im sure it must make the boat run looser as more water enters the hull, certainly be a benefit to eliminate this from happening. :)

Here are some pics

One thing I have noticed is that water will collect more in the right sponson, throwing the balance off and causing a rocking back and forth at full throttle after 6-7 laps.

I don't see how you could possibly be collecting much water inside the hull with the hatches both on like that??? That's weird. Are you sure you don't have a crack in the hull at the seam somewhere? Anyway, I guess auto bailers might help.

BTW, looks like a triangular opening in the hatch on the carb side of the front cowl...is that just a decal or is it a real opening? If it's an opening I would block that off ASAP before it lets water straight in to your carb and cause problems. Open pipe side more, close off carb side.

One thing to try is to tape the front cowl seam, front to back on both sides, especially the carb side. The T-bolt doesn't really have an inner lip around the cowl opening to stop water from creaping in. Taping it and doing a few runs will let you know if that's where it's all coming in. This is where it comes in at launch and at end of run or stall...and when in someone's roostertail.

Hmmmm....cover the vent in front of the carb? I understand where you are going with that but my carb is around 6 inches back. It really helps it to breathe and runs better. I mean it was noticeable after I did it. I'm going to have to get creative and block it but keep some decent airflow through there. I will tape it around the front like you said to see if the water is coming from the front.

I also ran water through the cooling system with a hand pump (both motor and header/pipe) to see if I had any leaks. I do. I drilled out the holes on the flanges of the pipe and widen the nipples over the winter. I need to put some small orings around the base of them before snugging them down. They leak at the base. Crap!
