picking props-what would you buy again?

Radamus created the topic: picking props-what would you buy again?

If you had to pick one prop for each boat in your fleet what would you buy a second time?

ABC 2716/2 ...Great Cat or Sport hydro prop, does Riggers too !!
Propshop or Voodoo 7016/2 ... Great Cat or Mono prop
Octura X670 ... Runs on everything
Prather 270 ... Same as above

These props have proven them selfs over and over again as Broad application choices.
I am however NEVER satisfied with just ONE prop, so the box continues to grow beyond 80 props to fine tune with. Yea, not what you wanted to hear :silly:

The profile and characteristics greatly differ between them.
The ABC caters to further tweaks of its shape, cupping, round ear mods ect. A GREAT prop for modifying.
The Octura and Prather works best as-is, and do NOT not need to be played with.

I do not mod props myself so as far as out of the box performance (sharpened and balanced) I have yet to find anything as fast as a Voodoo 6719 - 3.

If as your USER name suggests, you are talking RIGGER props ? .... Yes the VD 6719/3 is an EXCELLENT rigger prop !

That prop works good on some sport hydros too, But few other style hulls like em :(

** BTW, it is based off the OCTURA V967/3 that was the FIRST to use this design.

Thanks for all the input guys.

I ask because, like a lot of guys I don't have an unlimited budget so I can't be buying $70 props just because I don't have it. I still have every custom prop I ever bought, unfortunately those were back in the g23 days.
Kind of funny how some things don't change though -X472 (one of my favs) and 670-still popular!gotta love it.

I ordered a couple of each of Andys special promos he did a while back and like a lot of guys hope to see them soon. I used to buy Andys props when I knew the were the ones to have and was always the fastest thing I ever had so I expect the same from these new deals. I'm sure they'll be excellent.

Like a lot of guys, I can sharpen and balance and do a couple small tweaks that as everyone knows work, but getting into all the work like some guys do I just don't have the time/skill/knowledge or patience to deal with it.

Going fast is really quite easy, biggest wheel you can turn- but heat props are way different from my experience. I've had props that would light a fire under any boat but wouldn't power through a turn to save it's soul without ill effects and exactly the opposite going the other way.

While I was typing this you brought up the V967- I can remember when it was a 6 month wait to get a AB967- they were THE prop for a rigger.
