Deja voo was just thinking about that design yesterday while assembling some engines.

Was wondering what builders had tried the concept and might be using it ?

World wide web of steal & splash for profit .... have to love it

** BTW, post me the direct URL to that fleabag listing if you would ?

Looks familiar for sure!!!!

I know the feeling...I have done articles on here to show people how do do things, next thing you know they are doing business selling the very same things...but the way I look at it, if you put it out there for all to see and learn how to do, it becomes public domain. Would be nice to get a cut from the profits though! ha ha!

It's 1 thing to use an idea, but to take an idea and prfit from it is another. Many idea's are shared and I would'nt consider them copycats, however this is and was thought up by Scott and was copied for profit. I had an idea a few weeks ago and then seen a product offered of simularity, obviously we share ideas among 1 another and therefore see this often. But really?? this is a sure case of piratcy. Even a patent can't help in this case when other countries don't have to follow rules.

This is'nt a funny subject, but the thing that is funny is that these people prolly don't even understand the purpose of the mod. They also prolly have no R&D, DYNO TIME, or even feedback for this product. Them you know whats just stole an idea and decided to try and profit from it. Fact is, it's missleading the consumers without facts to stand behind it.
Scott I admire your collectivness on this as I would be exploding. I did email the seller before I posted this and gave them my thoughts on it and yes it was'nt nice.

I agree 100%... I've seen people profiting from what was shown here on MGB.com without even giving credit...but what are we to do about it really? Kinda sad, but it's become a fact of life...a lot of people will cross just about any boundaries for a buck. :(

Russ,

To put it in perspective, oval slot or open side pistons are nothing new, been around sense the 80's in high performance chain saws.
Actually when the original thread was up on Jims @ 3 years ago, had posted a few Saw pistons that were my inspiration in applying the design into a stock Zenoah piston.
So it is NOT my design, tho I will take claim to be the first (Posted on line) to apply the design to our marine Zenoahs.

I have no issues with it other than my intent being lost on it being a tool for "Do it your self" hobbyist engine tuners, but instead exploited for profit by an out of country copy cat.

That's my beef, and a weak beef it is :S
