Surface prop vs. submerged

Ska Fan 03 created the topic: Surface prop vs. submerged

In my runnings of nitro boats i have always used submerger props, as i get more into the sport of gas boats i see many surface piercing props.

Was just wondering why there so popular, do people even run submerged props on these boats?

Thank You

Only on shallow V cracker boxs and like hulls.

Prop tech and high rpm engines has brought surface piercing drives into the mainstream :drinks:

Big difference between submerged and sub surface  ,submerged is best for rough water handling for sure and also turnability but slower.FSRV boats run this and they kick the ass of any surface driven boats on m shaped courses, even in oval races so much so they are banned from racing oval races against surface drives in europe i believe because they lap so much quicker. They turn in their own length even at full tilt without flipping. They are a different animal to your average vee though, not my cup of tea but awesome to watch all the same.
