New Custom Aeromarine Conquest

I just got this one from Aeromarine. I called Remy and asked if he could lay one up heavy (thicker) for me and move the bulkhead forward about 2" and also add some reinforcements. Here's the result. Has carbon fiber reinforcement in the back and also forward of the bulkhead. You can also see the new adhesive they are using...it's green...not as pretty, but apparently VERY strong. Since they can't tape the nose seam past the bulkhead, the adhesive is very important. The seam from bulkhead to transom is fully taped. This boat is virtually flex free and consequently a bit heavier than a regular Conquest. I think it will be perfect for heat racing though. Now if I can just talk them into cutting out some hole in the bulkheads for floatating noodles before putting them in the hull! :) I actually forgot to ask when I orderd. :dash:

Remy will do these mods for anyone, for about $40 to $50 extra. Well worth it in my opinion. :drinks:

Hi,
Looks pretty cool to me. B) Yeah, those noodles have to be in there somewhere.
I did not know you could get them with custom features.:beach:

yep and price is right too. The boat is significantly stiffer than a stock one. Even the deck has just about no flex, so it should hold up a lot better in the even of hits or hard blowovers. Time will tell, but for the extra $50 I don't think you can go wrong. All you have to do is ask them and they will do it. In fact I think they will do it with just about any of their hulls. :drinks:

For an extra cpl $ will he change that glue to white :? .That seam is still the weakest part of any hull so i say it should be glassed from inside to be totally honest. If you do use glue then it needs to be a flexible one to avoid cracking on impact due to the hull flexing in my opinion.Imagine if the hull flexes on impact and the glue is rigid the only thing that will happen is POP ;)and it would probably do damage to the laminate too :( .At least with a flexible glue or sealant if it popped there would be less damage.Best way is to glass inside and seal the gap under the lip with a flexable glue or sealant in my opinion as it allows some flexability that is needed in a hard impact and is less likeley to come apart than a rigid joint.

Looks good,

Remember Mart, it's a race boat, it's going to get battle scars & you can only see the green from the bottom, if it's that way up you're not racing. Also adding tint to it would compromise the strength.

All the more reason to glass the seam from inside, there are ways to add bulkheads after the top is joined to the bottom also.
