Hi Woodie,
Ditto, it is nice work. B)
Now would be a good time to think about what type of floatation you might use, pool noodles or solid. You can use the two part or spray foam but that is slightly heavier.
Just a thought for you.

Thanks guys.

The Kat Killer has to wait for its skin until I have the engine and have finished rails etc. in the engine bay. It will be a VERY tight pack, and therefore easier to do before the skin is on.

Pool noodles? What's that? I was actually considering filling the front compartment with spray foam of the type, that is used for insulation in house building.

Cheers! :cheer:

Hi Woodie,
Yeah, pool noodles are a closed cell foam and extremely light, I don't know if your country uses the metric system or that foreign currency but the noodles are about 1.5 to 2.0 metres long (5ft to just under 6 1/2 feet) and about 50mm to 100mm thick (2" to 4"). They will actually hold an adult on the water. Plenty of buoyancy. As you might have guessed they are used in swimming pools. We can get them all year round on Oz. They go for about $2.00 to $3.00 each.

Thanks Moof. I get it now. This is what I have seen on pics of many MGB's.
I tried googling the stuff. Easy to find in most of the World - except Denmark :(
But you know: I won't give up just because of a coup of noodles!

Cheers! :cheer:

Bad news from Germany.

The Blata-guys in Germany has just informed me that the Blata is ordered from the factory. As it is an engine made for pocket-bikes, they will have to modify it for MGB's first. This means that I will be lucky if I receive it before New Years Evening. (!) :(

But time shall not be wasted:
The inside bottom of the boat needs epoxy and glassing along the spants/profiles.
I can make some raw engine rails ready to shape up, when the blata arrives.
And I can make som temporary profiles of sides and deck to be ready for cutting in plywood, when time comes.
Maybe I'll even begin to design the outside bottom rails. Just have to find out the best design before I do something stupid.

But untill then there will be nothing much to tell about or pics to bring...

Anyway:
Cheers to ya all! :cheer:

Hi Isuzu.

There is no doubt about the order. It's as shown on top of this homepage:

www.mhz-powerboats.com/mhzpowe...0b00ec96f79f6f4

Only thing is that 99,99 percent of their engines are built ready for those pocket bikes - not for MGB's.
But they make them, just as shown on the link, so I see no need to demand delivery piece by piece. :)

With a little luck, I get the whole pack including exhaust just before X-mas.
What at present that would be! :cheer:
I cross my fingers. Do the same for me!

Cheers! :cheer:
