Nice work there Woody. Don't worry about working slow as they say slow and steady wins the race.

Thanks for the nice words guys!
I don't think I will put on sides and deck, before all inside the engine bay is made ready. In that way I get better access to do it right.
Blata engine and exhaust is ordered, but "not in stock" right now.
Without this, I can't design engine rails, so that has to wait.
(I sure hope that engine is non-corrosive, as I expect to drool a lot on it)
Cheers to ya all!
Woodie.

Hey Woodie, just get yourself a bib with a catch-pouch on it!!! Maybe that will keep the drool off!!!!
Just remember to allow for a rubber mounting system so your monster engine doesn't shake that beauty apart!!!!
Keep up the great work!!!

Isuzu.
Don't worry about rubber mountings. The Blata comes with 8 suspension bolts all with rubber mounting.
It will be mounted on a pair of 3/4" rails of quality teak plywood. Heavy, but very strong.
Cheers!

The latest:
The Blata-guys from Germany can provide the engine, the exhaust, and a few of the needed extra parts. But not all parts. Anyway the order is in process. I get what I can, and then try to find solutions of things, that the Blata "experts" has no idea of...
In the meantime I'm getting "boring", as there is nothing much to do, before i get my hands on that engine.
So I have started to bore holes in the front spants/profiles and the center board in the front deck. Together with some furious rasping and sanding this has saved about 30 grams of weight so far.
Glassfibre bands, cloth and resin is ordered too.
Pics will follow soon.
Cheers!

Another report from Denmark:
Glasfibre stripes (18 meters, 25mm), cloth (2 sq meters 25 grams) and resin is received and ready for use.
Still waiting for that Blata, w. exhaust and accessories. Those german Blata guys certainly don't ride the same day as they saddle the horse!

Hope to get the engine before christmas!
In the meantime I still do some filing, some drilling and sanding just to make the boat lighter untill the engine arrives. Extra care and precision is the name of the game for now.
Here is some pics. Nothing much is done so far, but the drilling is shown, and you can also see an example of how the waterproofing rubberlists on the frame for the canopy will be placed.
Cheers!
