Weight it down so it sits flat and leave it in the sun for a day and it might straighten out.

2 mm is enough to affect performance. I would make sure the bottom is as straight as possible.

Looking from the back of the boat with the stern held flat on the bench, the right hand sponson on some cats will lift up. This is to stop the cat digging in and hooking in turns, if the left sponson is raised you may have an issue. I've seen a cat with 10mm or more twist & it handles really well & was a very fast contender in heat races.

well i got to run the cat today sorry its been awile had a bit on lately. it seem to run pretty good.will gps it next run .now it ran nice and straight and tured really good .one thing i picked up was when turning there was no water going in the eng .its got a china rudder on it so thinking i will put a seedmaster rudder on it maybe a tapered blade .also the the right sponson will drag a little bit at lower speed like its got a little bit of prop torque i run a seaducer prop its a x470-2 the strut was set at 1/4 inch above the sponsons .will do some more testing with gps . thanks ian

Have you checked the balance left to right?
The setup may just be heavier on that side!
My Quaka motor has heaps of torque to the right especially when taking off, so much so that if I throw a bit of a turn to head out it actually lifts the left side right out of the water and runs on the right sponson! A quick flick of left rudder and it drops that side back down!

Awwwww! Your little engine is sooooo cute!

Hey Oz,
Have you noticed that it is mainly Ozzies using the site at the moment. Except a Texan (Isuzudude) and a Danish guy (Woodie) I hope they are looking after our Princess Mary. She seems to be helping with the population growth over there. Good on her. If you see this Woodie it is a compliment, ok.

My excuse is, and maybe y'alls too, we are just into more than the "normal" people B) I love comin on and chattin with y'all. I've come across some great ideas on here... and plus I like pickin at Woodie :silly: hahaha B) My biggest problem is, when I get into something, I jump in with both feet. Sometimes that's a good thing, sometimes not too good. But ya never know unless ya jump in. B)
