This is my younger son having his first go at steering the 30cc airboat!
Was very windy down the sandflats and I had the throttle set at a high idle so he could get used to it.

Great Video!!!! I loved the way he'd lean into it with body english to help it turn!!!

Yeah, it's great to see father/son bonding. You just don't see it that much these days. I have two daughters that are 26 and 27 years, we used to do all that stuff and it has kept us really close as a family unit, even if you don't see them every day.

Great vid looks like the young un hooked...I didnt get my son into RC till he was in his 20's....he has now found 1:1 motorcycle more interesting, so we only get out rarely.Have you thought of putting a rate gyro on the steering?

He had a ball, guess I will have to build him one too.
The airboats are perfect out the front here as the water is only ankle deep for about 200 meters off the beach most of the time.
Even a high, hightide is only waistdeep!

Even better: Let HIM do the build of a simple boat, with you as an "assistant".
The result may not be perfect, but you will get quality time together, and he will be really proud of his "selfmade" boat.
