I can see that that little hole in the transom will do away with the need for an auto bailer. So long as if the boat stops in choppy conditions the hole remains above the water line.

What I especially like about a quality auto bailer is that when you bring your boat in and pop it on its stand, any excess water in the hull simply drains out of the bailer with no action required.

I'll ask again...can someone tell me where the pushrod linkage connector is from? Got a direct link to them?

Hi Marc

Firstly I think I owe you an apology. I say that because I actually thought that you was initially taking the mickey out of me for having a push rod connector that was NOT a simple single grub srew collet type. And in comparison rather crude looking!!

The connector is a simple electrical connecting block that we use for connecting cables or flexes in various sizes. Cheap as chips, available from any DIY store but with the advantage that they give good alignment of two rods side by side and bullet proof reliability.

Thanks Craig. I like that idea a lot. I will look into them... maybe just replace the flat head screws with some nice SS cap head.

These Bailers are the best - I use 5 of them on 4 diff boats, - great for draining hull after day end also.

Welcome to the forum Brigadair!

For those of you reading these threads, Brigadair is my identical twin brother. Am I right Garry?

He recently built a Lynx mono very similar to the one I put up in my "Hello section."

This clip of his first run I think demonstrates why his boat needed an auto bailer, especially after the first substantial turn!!!

Cheers, Craig

Auto bailers are ok if u need them - I have 11 boats including 4 twins - I do not have auto bailers in any of them

I try to have most mine running dry so not much need for them - nice little gadgit if u feel the need to use them - I run Dr Buck fuel bags in all my boats now - if any water I just flip it and dump it. I do run some hole in some higher up so I can 'tilt and drain' some...

Randy

Lots of flips and dunk with mine lol

Hi Randy

I just gave your you tube clip the thumbs up - great compilation clip especially the part where the boat flipped over caught on your underwater camera!

:woohoo:
