EZ pull for zenoah 26

jmfairbanks created the topic: EZ pull for zenoah 26

I have a warehouse hobbies enforcer team pro with their M5 zenoah 26. I keep breaking the paw for the recoil start and was wonder would one of those ez recoil starters have enough torque to turn it over?

They make a metal pawl for Zens

usually when it happens to me it's been a issue with spacing of recoel assembly or the way the guys pull .... my nephew jerks his hard without engaging it slowly first and breaks lots ...

Welcome to MGB.

As Canadian says: Be gentle at the first pulls. Maybe spray (just a little) ether or gasoline into the carb before the last pull.
(Advices I found elsewhere in this forum).

Cheers! :cheer:

Thanks for the info Randy, I seen that they make metal ones and that is one of the options im considering. I keep seeing these videos of people starting their boats without even having to hold on to the boat itself. All they are doing is just lightly pulling the handle a few times and it starts right up, to start my boat i have to hold it at the motor and usually have someone hold it near the back because it takes so much force to pull it

Woodie, I out the choke and I give it a half pull 2 times and the engine will pop, then i turn the choke off and it will take 2 pulls at most and it will start right up. I always make sure to take the slack out of the line before i pull it also. This engine has 135# of compression so i dont know if that has anything to do with the piece breaking. This is my first Rc boat and its seems to be turning into a passion

We had a problem getting a NIB EVO starting. until we sprayed some WD40 inside the spark-plug hole. The new ring wasn't sealing. Thus not sucking fuel.Another easy pulling engine has to do with a Dremal and some buffing/ finishing bits.Inside your ports.

To answer your question, yes the EZ pull should work fine on that engine. I've seen it used on many modified Zenoahs and they work real well.

Sorry like Marc said a Eazy Start may help and is a simple bolt on ...

Just to add if it strong enough ?? u asked

Scott just built a new 520
www.modelgasboats.com/forum/14...-the-hull-too-/

and he used a Easy Start so I would think it would turn most anything over

just curious what oil you are running and what ratio?

Does the boat sit for long times in between running?

Scott's 520 picture

Randy, I have been using the boat atleast 2 times a week since i got it for Christmas. I am using 6oz of Klotz super techniplate per gallon of gas. We like to run that cause of the 20% BeNol castor oil in it.
