Hi guys.
I really hope someone can help me out here.
I am building the "Smokin' Cigarette" as shown in the thread:
www.modelgasboats.com/forum/28...okin-cigarette/
As you can see on the latest pic the engine is huge and the 3" exhaust is just a few millimeters from parts of the wooden hull.
My plan is to preserve the indside and the outside of the hull with epoxy.
So here is the question:
- What sort of (spray)paint should I use in order to protect the inside woodworks from the heat without bubbeling or catching fire? I am considering using spraypaint for radiators (up to 100 degrees Celsius) or spraypaint for engines and exhausts (up to 650 degrees Celcius). But both types are made for metal.
So the real question is not only which of these paints I should use but also:
- will they fix to the epoxy put on the wood?
Please try to help me out here.
Cheers!
Woodie.
I bring a picture here, so show how close the exhaust will be to wooden parts.
