I was so impressed, I'm gonna go to the FE race in Seville and run my gassers in the open classes. They are competitive indeed. ;D

I'm still wondering if i want to afford it ::) when i built my HPR04this past summer, i first thought of electric power, but it turned into gas cause i got totally.$ hooked up $.on everything from motors to pipes. so now it's time to read and ask ? about electric power.I have a good guy that will answer all my questions, Paul Pachmayer from ( www.fastelectricrc.com ) He has a few Volts under his belt :P so we are gonna try to get something goin with this . Also would make a great article too, we'll see! :o WG

From what I have seen In the RC jet plane and heli new electric, I see no limit to electric boat power.

The Open Mono class at the Texas Super Race this weekend was won by FE racer Jim Vaughn, racing against ten boats total in the class. Jim also placed 3rd out of 9 in Open Cat.

My FE Stryker was chasing down the leading fuel boat in one Open Cat heat when I took a bad bounce and dove underwater. After what seemed like ten minutes (probably 5 seconds) the boat came back to the surface and I took off in hot pursuit. I even passed the boat which had passed me while I was under water. When I drove the cat came back to shore it had mud marks 3" back on the front sponsons - try all that with a fuel boat! ;)

It was my first race amongst the fuelers and I had a blast - I appreciate their patience. My boat is now much better setup for runing in such wild traffic. 8)

When I made the move to FE boats and sold MOST of my gassers last season some of the gas guys laughed at me. I think FE has come a long way since brushed/NiMH power and I can only see it getting better in the future. Keep in mind I was the biggest anti-Electric guy before I made the change.

The FE sector of ALL hobby sports has gone NUTZS !!
So much power on tap, so little noise ... so smoken fast !!

If one were to look for the downside ? it would be the cost of the upper level components required to stay competitive.

Like all things electronic, R&D advances happen over night leaving todays high tech yesterdays old news.

If you have the big bucks to spend chasing a rabbit that gets faster every time it runs from the greyhounds ?
Then this is a KILLER new way of going really really fast !!
