I was wondering as well as to what happened to Jims.
must be having some troubles with the transfer. Lets hope it's resolved soon. Along with MGB they are the two best sites out there.

Folks sorry for the delay on the site. The transfer that was to take about 12 hours is well into 50 hours. The entire sites data was put onto a 32GB USB stick and mailed a day late. After that we are trying to upload the data into the internet server. This is a painfully slow process based on the shear number of files and the size of the database.

I have an early peek at the site right now and nearly all of the posts are up there. We are trying to clean it up and hopefully should have the DNS switched over within the next 24-48 hours. The main snag has so far been the slow upload to the site.

Better to take a little bit more time and do it right Jim... It will be worth it in the end. I'm sure everyone can survive a couple more days!

Guys, we all better remember that Jim, and the admins work their butts off. I appreciate what they have done, are doing and what they will do in the future. the thing to think about is "PATIENCE is a virtue.

Harv.

The same goes for MARC & his help.

Update:

We got the data uploaded and the site as it existed the other day was up and alive. We are now upgrading the site to the latest forum software and will apply all the other upgrades at this time. We may have a glitch or two as we transition but hope to enable the DNS switchover most likly tomorrow (Wednesday). If we run into issues it could be a bit longer but not likely as we tested it once and it worked OK.

The new site will have an integrated CHAT function similar to what Marc has but it may be a different chat engine under the hood. Can't recall what chat your using Marc. Anyway the one thing we plan to upgrade after the site is alive is the photo album software. We moved all the databases but we have to enable the new album software to work with the new forums. It's easier to do that once the forums are stable. Hang in there as it will be just a bit longer. Thank you all who have donated over the years as this move has been entirely funded by your generous donations over the years. We have a terrific new IP Host and Webmaster in Alberto Pumar who is an RC Boater as well. He graciously has been doing much of the heavy lifting on this move.

I lastly want to thank Marc here at MGB. Marc has consistently been a great resource in the Hobby. I appreciate all the work that goes into a site like MGB. The dock has been just a simple forum that caught traction many years ago. In a sense it was lucky to even still be around. If not for terrific members and supporters like Marc and countless others it would have been gone long ago. Thanks all for the support and looking forward to the future.
