strut nipple

Hi all could someone confirm that the nipple on this strut is for linking up to an oiler? cgi.ebay.co.uk/Marine-Strut-1-...076530?pt=Radio I have one of these fitted on one of my boats but because of the effect of the flexshaft the nipple has had to be blocked up as grease was been pushed from it.Cheers Darren

Never seen that before ? ... best guess it would be for an oiler.
Having it be a water P/U and holes required would really weaken the assembly IMO ..
