sparkplugs

dazzido created the topic: sparkplugs

Hi all just been looking over the site and note that for the G230 it,s a BMR7A plug but for the G231 it,s a CMR6 or 7H,is there any difference in thread length in these plugs because im considering trying a CR8HIX iridium plug?cheers Darren

NGK spark plug symbols..
B = 14 mm thread
C = 10 mm thread
M = compact plug
R = resistor
Number = heat range (smaller# is hotter, larger# is cloder)
A = spefic design for application
H = 12.07 mm reach
IX = Iridium high performance
I have used the Iridium CR7HIX in my mono with race trim and worked very well. Could not use them in Hydro because it is not a compact plug and is much taller. Be carefull when gapping Iridium or Platinum plugs. No amount of pressure should placed on the electrode as it can be damaged. A bit of that in your cylinder can ruin your whole day.

Some more good reading on plugs here: www.modelgasboats.com/Resource...park_Plug_Tech/

FTR the Zenoah racing kit comes with CR8HIX Iridium plug, So that's the correct plug for the application, but as mentioned it's very long, so if clearance is already tight with the standard plug, forget using this one unless you shorten it...

How to Shorten (not as easy as it looks though): www.modelgasboats.com/Magazine...en_a_Sparkplug/
