RCMK K30S engine

Hi everyone, Just purchased the new K30s engine from RCMK tried it in a small cat comparing it to a similar modded zenoah and found that it was very dissappointing,much slower and would not get up and go.Has anyone had the same result with this motor and if so is there any secrets to get it to perform?

???? what RPM did you pull ? and did you run it in in 3 stages ?

the best it would do was 15000rpm. I have since had someone look at it and he found that it only had a 28mm crank instead of the 29mm which it was advertised as. Have not tried it again yet with the new crank so dont know if it will improve......it should.

I want to try the same K30s Head on a Zenoah bottom with a 29mm crak, will let yoy know what the result is !!!

Have tried the K30 with 1mm stroker crank does go better but no where near as good as the 29.5 modded zenoah so have decided to put a modded 36mm zenoah top end on it.

You mentioned the stock K30 shows noticeably less performance than a modded Zen 29.5 on your cat. Out of curiosity, do you know how the stock K30 compares to a modded 260 by chance?

Hi,no sorry we never compared it to a modded 260, but if it was a full mod 260 im sure the K30 would have trouble keeping up! They are a really nice looking motor but just need a bit more development to get the best out of it.

I think he is asking how a stock K30 compares to a Mod 260 not Mod 29.5
