Hi i have a 771 carb and want to put the 257 needles in what is the best settings to start with?

You can start with the 2-1 setting that the 257 carb use, 2 turn open from close on the low and 1 turn open from close on the high. Once you get the motor started, you can then fine tune from there.

2 and 1 is to rich.And it is so easy to skip the setting that is a good starting point,i have try to look in the search for this over a year ago and found it but now it is lost. lol or i can't find it.

With swapped needles the 771 specs you had used before will still be VERY CLOSE.
The TIPS of both needles that rest within the adjustment orifices are shaped very much the same, only the screw drive adjustment ends differ
