Maybe check into this:

www.dngoodchild.com/divide_for_power_boats.htm

Scroll about half way down the page and look for "Building
A Jersey Speed Skiff - Pub. No. 5880.

The booklet cost less than $8.00. I don't know what is included
in the "4 Plates" but it does not cost much to find out.

First post did not state you already had a hull - I thought you were
trying to obtain "plans" in order to build a hull.

Now I'm wondering if maybe you are trying to obtain "setup instructions"
so you can fit the hull you already have with hardware.

Since it is an Aeromarine hull, one would think they would provide setup
instructions (if they have any).

If all else fails, search for a forum where the Speed Skiffs are being
discussed - those modelers may provide the setup help I think you are
looking for.

The setup instruction link just might be the answer you seek *if* they
are for the same hull length. Is there anyway to verify what length of
hull those setup instructions refer to?

Good luck - from the videos I've watched, they are lots of fun to drive

Aeromarine's website is down and they are not answering my emails and it has been down for 2 weeks now

my guess is that something is going on with them maybe?

but the plans are for a 49inch jersey skifff.

should i porportion them up and call it good?

i am just wondering if i can use these plans

because i have not seen ANY setup plans or more than 3 forum posts that i did not post

THANK YOU SO MUCH(sorry for caps)

I see what you mean. I get a message that it is closed for maintenance.

So the Aeromarine hull you have is not 49 inches long and you want to scale
up/down to use them - it should work. Too bad Insane did not list the COG
percentage. To be sure, maybe contact Insane Boats and ask them if they know a
COG percentage for their Skiff. If you can setup your boat to the same COG,
it is very likely you will like the way it handles. Insane builds some
good quality products.

Now I see where those setup instructions came from:

www.insaneboats.com/setups/

Have you asked at Jim's R/C Boat Dock? Several subscribers are Skiff owners
and can probably help you with info.

So i understand that COG percentage is center of gravity percentage
(my first gas boat)
but how is percentage incorporated to COG

and also lets say the COG percentage is_______(blank) how does this affect the way i setup my boat?

can i figure out my COG percentage myself without running it?

THANk you SO much.

Hi Ben.

I am truly not the expert here, as I only know what I have read about.
My conclusion is that on a mono, the Center Of Gravity should be about 33 percent (plus or minus) depending on the hull shape.
You find the COG simply by putting the complete boat with a half filled fuel tank on a small list on the table. Get it to balance. If a 100 centimeters long boat balances at a point 33 centimeters from the stern, the COG is 33 percent. Which as a rule should be good.
This is my understanding of this. Hope it helps.
(Anyone can correct me).

Cheers! :cheer:
