Hey Everybody!

Having some trouble with my boat. Its running a CY R273 engine. Ill prime it up and it starts great and runs fantastic for about 2-3 minuets, then the rpms drop and it stalls and I end up going for a swim.

I can restart and and the same thing happens. Could this be a fuel delivery issue? I have cleaned the carb in out and everything seems to be flowing ok.

Any thoughts?

What kind of boat is it? What's the material it's made out of? Does it have a cowl, or is it an open boat? Are you running a hard tank or a gas bag?

sounds like your hard tank in picture doesn't have a vent - ?? hole in cap ?? or seperate vent ??

Need to vent tank too or it will run for while and die , as will a over heated motor and a lean running motor

Hey guys thanks for the responses, it is a deep vee hull made of wood. with an open compartment. And yes running a hard fuel tank.

And I think you have a great point, the only other line from the tank connects to the carb overflow.

Im guessing that is why the bags are so popular as they can deflate as the fuel is used and not create a negative differential pressure?

if no vent - it will do exactly what it's doing
