old school inboard

tatman created the topic: old school inboard

I'm new to the forum and building a 55" Dumas monohull. I'm old school and am not sure of the performance difference from a traditional inboard prop to this new "prop out of the water gig." I like the rudder mounted close to the transom. It's the way boats are made. As well In my laying everything out I don't like all that stuff hanging so far off the transom. I'm not really commited one way or another, just wondering about the difference.

You will gain rpm and speed with the surface drive. Old hull will like the new tricks. Running an old prather surface and love it.
