Exhaust below waterline

tatman created the topic: Exhaust below waterline

Is it possible to run the exhaust out below the waterline, Like real boats? Im trying to make this boat as quiet as possible, or does it really not make any difference. And if so can the pipe tip be split to have dual exhaust. I converted to a true inboard instead of the "prop out of water" style. I'm a bit old school and a traditionalist. 55" dumas Zenoah 26 tuned pipe.

If your exhaust exits the transom, it will be out of the water while the boat is moving. I assume you do not intend to race your boat.

Ron Buck makes a muffler that he uses on his classic thunder boat that is really quiet. I don't know if he makes them for sale or not.

Good luck.

Im not racing the boat, and my thought was for the exhaust to go out the bottom of the boat, Mega Yacht style. It's my first boat and I'm sure there is a lot to be learned in Style VS Performance
