Walbro carburetor design or flaw

tootalltechie created the topic: Walbro carburetor design or flaw

Hi, I just received a new Wt-318A carburetor, While polishing the venturi. I noticed that the horn is NOT concentric with the low pressure area of the venturi. The Question I have is. Do I worry about it, and remove the difference, or just leave it and say it was designed in.

Thanks for any help

Gord it is simply factory (lack of) tolerances. All these little carbs were and are, made for utility engines. We like to consider them race carbs, but they are far from it. Unless you are trying for the very last 1/10 of a mph, blending it will not be felt. But if it pleases you, go for it.

The carb is cast. They only bore it from the backside in far enough to get a precise diameter to fit the butterfly. Beyond the butterfly wasn't a necessity so they only go that deep with the boring.

The carbs were not designed to flow the best possible.
