Not to take away from anyone, but just for the record, the MHZ unit, although expensive, also covers interference and/or loss of transmitter signal. This is today's equivalent to the old Shark Racing failsafes. As far as I know, no other unit covers all these bases. The last units Shark Racing had manufactured actually monitored the servo they were connected to, in case of servo failure. To my knowledge nobody had pursued this...it's too bad, the units worked very well. In my opinion, the best overall protection available at this point is the MHZ unit. If the boat starts acting funny on you, you can switch off your transmitter and kill then engine. If memory serves me correctly you can also switch your radio's 3rd channel to kill the engine. Andre did a review on the Isam unit a while back, which is actually the same one MHZ sells. Expensive, but works great! Also like the fact that it's 100% water proof and the relay section is separated from the electronics unit which goes in the radio box.
For economical solutions, the NC relay most are selling do protect ok against power problems. Coupled to a PCM radio with built in failsafe they cover most bases efficiently. JMHO.
