I would go to your local club and watch them run and ask questions for a few weeks then make a decision as to what to buy, there are several good ones out there today.......

We're not that far from you, we actually run in Sanatoga, and bridgeport (KofP). I switched to gas last year, and the guys I run with are making the switch this year. We run just about every Sunday, and are always looking for people to run with us. we may not be all that much help in choosing a hull, but for setup and running we may be able to help. I have heard good things about both hulls, I love Aeromarine boats, but I'm trying others and liking them also. Rico, XXX, Hurricane, Seaducer, Insane, (and many others that I haven't written) are all great boats, and have their quirks, and tricks. I run a Seaducer mono, and it's a handful due to the propwalk, and it requires a fair amount of left input, but I like it.

That is good to know, did not know of many people running gas due to alot of water is restricted to gas only allow electric, have 2007 octane 45 by arrowshark only play boat, yes I know bridgeprt, kop area,I have researched just about every boat you mentioned ,really like the looks of xxx, rico 2008 new offshore, both are supposed to be excellent boats but i think accutech hardware is better then areomarine, looking more towards rico, good in rough water, xxx not sure, don;t think many guys are running rico compared toxxx in this area because electric is most popular in area,THANK YOU for your info. would be intrested in checking out.

I tend to agree, Aereomarine hardware is bulky, but it gets the job done. I stick to mostly Speedmaster and Top Secret hardware. Either boat would be a good choice, IMO. I'll let you know when we are running again; by buddy is on vaca this week and may not be back in time to run this coming weekend. Working on an electric retrieval method to avoid this going forward.;) We usually take the Sanatoga route until mid season, and then the \"pond\" gets too green along the banks, so we switch to Bridgeport. I wont run my hydros at the pond, its a little narrow, and at 70+ MPH, I'm nervous enough not to have to worry about hitting the bank! We've always run nitro in these places, and have never had an issue; we respect the fisherman and others (we once had a run in with the PA Fish Commission because a spill pushed us out of our normal running places, and our rowboat wasn't licensed - believe it or not in some state run parks even canoes and other craft without motors have to be registered - which changed from when I lived by the river years ago). The guy was cool, and just let us go, but we registered the boat just in case. That particular park is where Butch Fields (Butch the Boataman) tests. There's enough places around here, finding them is the hard part, I used to take my \"real\" boat out and run at the river.

Ya the rules and regulations have changed alot over the years before you could run your boat without problems but laws have gotten real strict even for just tring to have fun with a toy.The boat i get now won't be ready until end of season, may not get to run till next season will see how fast can build but want to do it right is most important, running octane now, waiting for a auto bailer, freinds dog tried to attack boat one day so i ran it aground so he couldn't bite spinning prop but split transome so had to do some fiberglass repair, runs okay now,but wasnt impressed by boat when got from arrowshar hull very thin kinda slow to,would much appreciate info on next time yous go out.

I know that when you buy a Rico boat you get Richie and Paul with it. Today at the lake they were there with a buyer who bought one RTR gas mono and one RTR nitro mono from them. They spent the entire morning with the buyer showing him how to drive it, make adjustments to the hull, set up the radio, etc. etc.
They build great hulls whether monos, riggers, or whatever. Check out the construction on the Herzog Thunderboat they are building. Second to none. I can't speak for the other builders. I know they are also good, but with knowledge of RICO BOATS I can vouch for them and say you will get the very best from two tremendous guys who stand behind their product and race their boats to keep up and surpass the latest technology. Check out their results from last years Nationals. Perry
