Welcome Robby.

If you are just planning to run in big water, I would suggest a V from Warehouse Hobbies...you can get them in KIT form which you have to assemble. Much of the work is done for you but you still put it together and get a feel of what it's about...the boats are very reasonably priced and something like the Magnum 57 will take some pretty rough water...they are a blast!

If you want a boat the you can upgrade for racing, there are other choices...like for example the Insane mono, the Hurricane Mono from Herzog Racing, the XXX mono from Aeromarine, a Lazer 45 or Razor 45 from AC Model Boats, Stryker Y6 from RC Boat Works, also a couple new ones from CC Racing...there are many great boats out there...you have to narrow it down by deciding what kind of running they will primarily be used for and take it from there. I also usually recommend getting a boat you think looks appealing to you. There are so many great boats, why not get one you think looks good right?! :)

Others will have opinions to share I am sure...I am being unbiased so I know I am not helping you much in your decision making...just offering choices! Keep us posted!

Robby

I have always been a fan of Hydros. Seaducer has a sweet one as well as rc boat works and Insane. But i have also wanted to build a offshore cat.

Look around before buying!!!

The XXX is a good boat...will handle rough water and is a great racer. It has a tendency to be very sticky on calm water though.

The insane cats are pretty good boats, not really a fan of their mono's tho'.The ac may be a better boat because they run nice in both types of water and definitely very competitive in racing. If not you can check out speedfreek boats...thats what i run!B)
