Work on my turbine hydro continues. I'm hitting several snags, most glaring is the fit of the turbine/gearbox assembly in the 1/8 scale hull. Height of turbine at starter is above hatch, due to angle necessary to minimize shaft stress. I can either do significant hull modifications, or simply find bigger hull. Stability is concern, as longer/wider footprint would drop percentages of flip/blowover. Pretty costly scenario if turbine is running when water gets to it...
Can anyone put me on to a larger scale hydroplane (1:6)? I know of Newton, but would like to get a pre-fab hull (fiberglass, carbon) so I can focus on the build and get a test in before Christmas. MHZ has one, but \"pre-order\" right now. I can't get Hoover Racing to return my calls...busy maybe? Tons of Vs and Cats out that are big enough, but I'm loyal to the modern sponson hydros.
Any info would be greatly apreciated!
