floatation?

uprr created the topic: floatation?

I'm looking for which floatation will do best? Will spray foam(great stuff) or should I just use foam board cut into pieces? I know how spray foam expands and can cause problems so I would use it in small layers and the stuff is pretty light. but on the other hand... PLEASE HELP!!

Go to Walmart and buy some pool noodles. They can be cut to fit in any space and they're cheap.

Like Steve said...pool noodles...you can also get it in flat boards now too which works good for cowl and riggers.

The spray foam will eventually get soaked and weigh a ton...will rot your boat and weigh it down a lot...been there (a long time ago) never going back. Pool noodles will also take water over time, but they cost very little to replace. Once a year is usually plenty.

All I can say is pool noodles! If you want to get fancy you can order closed cell foam in sheets or cylinders from www.closedcellfoams.com :cheer:
