Racing in Orlando?

ccgetz created the topic: Racing in Orlando?

I am a Airplane RC truck guy looking to convert to water. Just moved to Orlando (lake county) and have in laws who live on a nice big ole lake.

I am a build it guy, like ot get into things, put htem together, nderstand how they work. Not much into ready built or anything like that.

I also liek to compete.

Questions are.

Any organizations in Orlando area to race with?

Rules? (need to know what rules and restrictions I have to adhere by in building a boat)

What boat do you all recomend? 40-50 inch cat with a zenoah? (oh I perfer gas only, dont like how much nitro costs)

I have a DX3 and X3S radios already from my truck days, will they fit the bill for boats?

Any good links on hardware and boat supplies?

Thanks and hoipefully I'll meet some of you Orlando guys are the lake!

Chris, you can find a club in your area by logging on www.namba.com,you will want to look at district three. You will find all the area clubs, race events and rules and regulations. you will find all the info for hull specs and engine requirements for the class boat you want to run.
