I talked with Carlo (CC Racing Engines) last night and they are at Legg Lake in CA where they secured a two-way pass average of 103.60 mph with their Zenoah powered rigger. Mark and Chris Grim are working with Carlo on this team effort. Mark and Chris built the boat, Carlo the engine of course!

Great work guys! I hear they are going again today to defend/bump up the record!

Just talked with Carlo and here are the official results...

1rst G1 Boat to ever go over 100mph with a 2-way average of 104.9 mph! Fastest pass at 106.5 mph!

They also did a 1-way pass at 104.8 with a regular heat race CC Racing engines Zehoah 260!

Great work by Carlo and the Grim family team! We tried hard but got beat in G1 fair and square. We really didn't expect any competition. Thanks a lot Carlo. I thought you were coming to LA for a friendly visit.

It is interesting to note that our Chung Yang engine did nearly as well as Carlo's best Zenoah with a 103+ two way and a 106+ one way. We only made a few runs at the G2 record since every pair was over the old 72 mph record.

It was great to finally meet Carlo in person and confirm that he is a really great guy. Teaming up with Mark Grim was the perfect way to get the G1 record over 100. Come on back in the spring and we'll be ready.
