Stryker 2 Hydro

glassy created the topic: Stryker 2 Hydro

Hi I have a stryker 2 Hydro that I have had for a little while, when I brought it it didnt come with instruction for setup so I searched some fourms for engine placement and strut hight ect and I have my hull up and running now the question I have is, today I finally had the setup instructions sent to me and I noticed they suggest you place a ski 2'' wide 14" long 3/4" deep cut in a wedge then split 1'' to extend around the strut! has any one else done this?

I remember the first Generation Insane hydros used a similar rid pad. As far as I know those are illegal in IMPBA for racing, so it's something to remember if you plan on racing. I believe it is still legal in NAMBA but one would have to confirm. www.namba.com The idea behind the step is to get the boat up on plane easier. I think it will allow you to push slightly higher pitch props. I have never tried it myself though, since I race and try to keep my boats legal in both organizations.

You might contact Ron Buck or Dave Douglas. They do a lot testing for RC Boatworks. Their boats are pretty fast, and I don't think they use the ski.
