I have had cats built both ways. I recently moved the strut in an old top gun to forward of the transom or through the hull. I am still not sure which is best. It would seem that by having the strut through the hull that the leverage of the prop lift will have less effect on keeping the nose down. So one could use a prop with more lift or have the CG more forward other adjustments being the same. I have a carbon f-41 to build and just wanted to here other opinions.

I finished mine about a month ago. it runs great with the strut mounted in the regular location.
