Teflon liner??

9/32 is a pretty tight fit...how are you getting it to keep any grease on the shaft, or are you using an oiler.

Really have not had issues with grease staying put so long as the stuffing tube to strut is gapless. Grease I use is pretty sticky stuff and in general good for 4 heats and some open water testing.

I do use an oiler on a few boats like shared within the Lauterbach build article.

* In reality the tighter fit between stuffing tube and cable keeps the cable greased better because what it slings off it run's right over again. In a oversize tube, grease slung off may or may not ever see the cable touch it again ?

Thanks Guys for the help. Now get this. Been couped up all winter here and finally the lake is water again. My friend Ken and I were going out tommorrow him to try his new whip me to try my new rigger. I made the final install of my cable a minute ago went to snug up the brass round collet and it twisted right in half. Dont have another and my racing weekend is done.. I cant even believe it.  Just looked at Gizmos new site and I will be getting the stainless collet this time. !! A frustrated Tom!
