Gas can weeping fuel

Riggerman created the topic: Gas can weeping fuel

I was wondering if there is a particular brand of gas can you guys are using. Every time I fill mine 1/2 full it weeps gas in the car so I made a new one. I rigged it up with a hand crank pump and thought I was good to go then looked at it the next day and it was weeping too :dash: :dash: Now I am thinking about using a colman fuel can but figured you guys must know something I don't because most are using 1 gallon jerry jugs just like mine. :drinks:

I use a Blitz brand plastic can with a Mike Sr (Redline) cap and it works very well.

What I do is use a 2 Gallon can for mixing my fuel, 1 pint oil (16 fl oz) per 1.6 gallons of gas and a little Marine Stabil. I store fuel in this jug with it tightly capped.
At the pond I use the 1 gal blitz can with the Mike Sr. cap and MPI fuel pump.
I don't fill either can much over 1/2 of its capacity espically at this time of year with the large temperature swings. There is most likely a pressure build up because of temperature change causing your gas to seep out..

Thanks for the help Ed. I will try that. It probably is the crazy temp changes. The day I saw it weeping it was 34* in the morning and 75 in the afternoon. Thanks again :drinks:
