Hydro recommendation

Captain Hook created the topic: Hydro recommendation

Over the weekend I got stupid and lost signal on my boat (the fail-safe module is in my toolbox ready to install), it is now scrap fiberglass. It is (was) a Pro-Boat 1/8 hydro.
I need a new hull and would like some suggestions. I can buy a new hull from Pro-Boat and transfer everything easily, but looking for a more economical (cheaper!) way.
I can build something, but don't have the time.
I like a boat that looks like a "boat", not something from Star-Wars. I liked the hydro from Pro-Boat because it tried to resemble the original.

So are you looking for a bare hull, or a RTR hydro? In RTR it's more limited for hydros, unless you get one built...not many RTRs out there except the ones you know like the Proboat. If looking for bare hull for transplant, right now you can get a killer deal on a Aeromarine Thunderbolt hydro if you order it through CC Racing Engines. You can get it on their website: www.cc-racingengines.com or from their store on www.rcboatbid.com . Here is a direct link to one of their auctions up right now: www.rcboatbid.com/auction_deta...ction_id=102084

I have no problem doing some work. I don't need a full RTR.
I'm in the body shop/insurance biz and can get a great paint job. I can radio it get mechanics connected, I just don't have time to create from scratch.
I will check out your suggestion, Thanks!

I'd say get yourself a Thunderbolt . The proboat hydro needs alot of mod's just to run halfway desent:ohmy: & still couldn't compete with a good hull imo . Later Bill
