Prop Size for Easy Vee

vick22 created the topic: Prop Size for Easy Vee

What diameter and pitch should my prop be for the 46 inch easy vee made by zippkits?

Thanks in advance

Mine ran awesome with an X472 from Propworks West.

72mm x 1.4 pitch. Octura prop. It was modded by Propworks though. Thinned a lot and rounded tips with cup and barr-cut at the hub. The stock X472 will get you going though. Zippkits also will have some suggestions for props in the included manual.

I used a 500ml bag, fitted under the engine. If you wanted to use a hard tank, I would open up the bulkhead just ahead of engine so you could fit it up there. The bag is better for this boat in my opinion though.

A 16 Oz fuel tank should work good, but the problem is when the boat flips, you have to drain out all the fuel and water but fuel bag no need that.

If you go with a hard tank it will have to be installed on the right (starboard) side of the engine. There is no room ahead of the engine unless you can safely cut out the bulkhead to get it in there...you should check with Zippkits about that. It can't go on the left side cause the exhaust is there. I personally don't like the idea of having the tank on the side in a mono, especially the right side. Monos tend to torque roll because of prop rotation and this will only make it worse. I strongly recommend the gas bag under the engine or see with Zippkits if you can cut out the bulkhead in front of the engine. Just my opinion.

Sorry, there was no room to install a hard tank on in front of the engine in the easy vee, my fault..lol.
