it is far beyond my abilitys,but could someone produce a list that first timers could use as a build guide. i mean something basic that would get you in the water.parts and supplies,nothing fancy,just basic.it would make a good sticky,don't you think!

Yeah, some of the bigger websites on model boating do a list, Bonzi, I;) think have one.

If you're talking about what is required for builds, there are tons of build articles on this website, not to mention the Resources section with tips and tricks...plus the forum to ask questions if in doubt. If you check out some of the builds, most describe every step of the build from start to finish. Most manufacturers also supply setup sheet with their boats, describing important installation specs. What kind of "list" are you suggesting? Just so I can better understand.

In reference to the original question,I am in the planning process for my first boat build and have found that materials and parts needs are pretty simple,i.e. motor,driveshaft,prop mount,rudder assembly,glue or epoxy,and radio gear,but my difficulties are learning the exact details of installing the components,especially with homemade versions,where it seems just posting any questions on the forum is your best bet for an answer or idea.The forum answered my most puzzling question,and now will be my first place go to for any info. So THANK YOU to all who help us new guys out!!!

We were all new guys at some point. Helping people get into the hobby and have a good experience is why this website was first started. If I can help getting a "list" setup, I am all for it, but need to know what specific info is needed. I thing the boat review articles on this site can really answer a lot of the questions new guys might have, and as stated, the forum should be a good place for any questions you need answered. We do the best we can to answer all questions to the best of our knowledge. :drinks:
