Just to add you dont HAVE to have a water pump it just depends if you intend idling in the margins for long periods or not.Me personally i run my boats and have fun and dont spend time idling in the margins admiring them :) .Ive ran boats with clutches and never ran a pump yet and have had no problems, but you must set the radio so it will kill the motor if you lose drive ,say your flex snaps or prop comes off you wanna be able to kill it so it wont overheat.

I agree with the above. Forget the clutch. When you are running the boat, you are running the boat. I have only run a clutch on a Super G and it didn't have a pump. I am not a big fan of clutches and pumps. You lose RPM's with it and it is not necessary unless you are big on safety and photo ops. I would get a failsafe in there especially with an AM radio. The last thing you want is to lose reception and have the servos freeze full throtle up a bank. Failsafes are 20 bucks at Tower Hobby and Venom makes a good one. You run the throtle servo through the failsafe. Just make sure to set it so when you turn off your radio it sticks around idle. Go get that boat wet and have some fun.

Canadianmade (pete my nephew) and I still embrass them ...LOL ... by building faster boats

I'm the one that started it all up here:dash: (Northern BC in our group of about 7) and I started it because we needed something to do in evenings (we all work construction often away from home) and I wanted something to keep some of the kids out of the bars and trouble.:diablo: so I bought a few boats.

It worked and we all have a great time ... just spend too much $$$$ but it's worth it for the 'family time' ... a few years now......

Later and Thanks 'eh:beach:

Hi
Randy's right he started it .... might have been cheaper to go to the bar instead like the young guys wanted ...LOL

Think he might be in trouble as the some of the younger 'guns' are trying to build stuff to beat him this winter:blush:
