Where are the Pool Noodles???

Tropheus created the topic: Where are the Pool Noodles???

It's holding up my build and I never thought to by some spares over the summer. Who would have thought that a dollar part could hold up the project. Spent about 700 bucks and a dollar noodle is in my way. Can anyone give me some advice on scoring some in Baltimore Maryland. Tip would be greatly appreciated. I have looked at every Target, Walmart, Drug Store, Toys R Us this side of the Mississippi.

Till summer time again ... use foam copper pipe insulation ;)
A few side by side pieces of @ 2" diameter for 1/2" copper pipe will float yer boat !

Your only chances to find some pool noodles now is at a actual pool and spa retailer. The pool store by me carrys them all seasons.

Depending on how desperate you are you could even look on e-bay or order some from online??:dash:

Otherwise they are a seasonal item at the chain stores as Scott said.

I use the foam pipe insulation like Scott mentioned, in all my black boats. I hate to have the fluorescent colored noodles in a black boat. :) What I do is purchase the smaller insulators for 1/2 pipe slide them inside larger insulators for 1 1/4" pipe. They fit in there nicely and give about the same floatation as regular pool noodles. :drinks:

Thanks guys. After work I went on a rampage looking up all pool and spa stores in my area. Finally came across the last 2 pool noodles in my area. Problem is that they are going in my named "RAGING BULL" Aeromarine Avenger build but are pink rainbow color.:dash:

I bought 'em and there going in....Don't judge me.;)

I had the same trouble here a few months ago in our winter. I ended up asking a shop assistant at the local discount store & he had a whole heap of them out the back not on display. He was happy to sell me as many as I wanted. maybe ask & see if they have any out back waiting for the warmer months to be re-shelved.

Lately I have been using foam ground pad material that was intended to be used for padding between sleeping bags and the ground..The material I am using is a good closed cell foam available year round at sporting goods suppliers.Seems to be a better grade of foam than the pool noodles. It is flat and easily cut to fit and I glue it in with Shoe Goo or just stuff it in place. The only color I have found is a medium blue, there may be others ..Works GREAT and fits in many places better than pool noodles. Available in the sporting goods section at Wal-Mart and other places. Good Luck
