Hi
Not sure about Mono's but I have watched several of Randy's Catamaran two engine boats run over the last few years. Up here - northern bc - not much to compare them to in the north but his boats do seem to run well.
I know we are not in same as southern guys in US but we try and Randy will help any RC (boat, truck or whatever) guy here, always has and donates lots of parts to the guys here.:clapping: :clapping:

Just my 2 cents worth

Hey Matt
Just curious ... how did this Cat run with these drives .... now this I must admit I have Never seen anyone else do

Did it work? Why would you not use the type of underhull drives like SwissPowerBoats or MHZ on a Cat hull?

Wondered about this boat before ..

Regards

Randy

I personally believe the best route for Todd with his build with the GTX would be to run a single strut. While it does not keep as much scale looks - it will outperform other options available. I appreciate the plug of my drives. I have communicated with Todd several times on a previous project and consider him a friend. I have not approached him about running a single stern drive on the boat as I do not feel it optimal - I mentioned this in my post on RCU. A pair of stern drives (apart from being very heavy and expensive - $1600) is just more weight and less performance. Not needed (in my opinion) for an inline zenoah.

Randy - I was probably one of the first people to see most of your videos on Youtube. As a fellow sport boater I can appreciate the importance of doing something for the fun of it - and nothing more. I am impressed by your level of workmanship - certainly dont down play your capabilities - your on track to produce some great craft (just have to look beyond Verns hulls - I think they are limiting some of your own potential). I hope I did not come across as overly critical with my first post to this thread.

Regarding my Jolly Motors cat - I will message you directly as I have probably taken enough room in this thread from the topic at hand. ;)

Matt
Thanks for the compliments .. I do other hulls besides Vern's but a build of Vern's advertized anywhere right now helps Vern out - who is a very good friend with some tough times in the last while.

I do not apoligize for any reason for using Vern's Forabuck hulls and will continue to use his stuff. He is a friend - builds good sport boats - does them with class - and builds me a 'custom' hull to my door most times in 2-3 weeks.

I'm not a racer - don't plan on selling anything or starting a store - just enjoy the sport with friends and family

Keep 'em right side up

Randy

look forward to your pm - cold here not much else to do ... no parts left LOL

sorry for using thread space for this reply
