Sneak Peak... My New Aeromarine Conquest

INEEDSPOTS created the topic: Sneak Peak... My New Aeromarine Conquest

While the Seaducer has been a good boat to me, she suffered quite a bit of damage at the Gas Nats, and while i am going to fix it... my good friend Carlo hooked me up with this boat that will be raced at a select few races next season.

Pretty much just like Marc's new boat..this has the new glue on the seams, with the bulkhead moved foward, and carbon layed up all inside.

Will have standard hardware setup with strut outside, powered by of course a CC Racing ProMod 260 & CC Steel pipe. Will post pics as i start building during the week. Time to relax after driving all through the night back from Louisiana last night

Nice looking Conquest Will. I will be building my new one during the winter months. I think I will be going back to the inside mounted strut though. I've done them both ways and I really like the inside mounted strut. Both methods work well though. The Conquests are great boats! :drinks:

Nice Will,

Conquests are awesome :diablo: , you will enjoy it, I run my strut on the outside, never been game enough to try one on the inside, hard to go away from something that works good for me. I just ran a 70.8mph in mine a couple of days ago with one of my heats props.

Marc, I would be interested to see if you have any clips of yours done with the strut inside too see how it runs.

Very nice looking hull. Glad to see we can get them in NZ.
A question though. I'm new to gas boats. What is an internal mounted strut vs an external strut? I thought that they were all externally mounted?

If you look at the build Marc did here on the first conquest he did ( i believe?) he mounted the strut inside the boat (so the strut exits in the tunnel under the boat).

Heres a pic of it..

Marc,
Im not really a fan of putting the strut inside, but i know it worked for ya on the original white boat.

Heres a few pics with some parts on the boat.

Where you going to put the gas bag at Will under the front ??

Tight spot with it being so far up front for a gas bag but it looks good :dance2:

Mark, im gonna put a 500ml right under the bulkhead, just like we did on yours.. it will just be a bit more foward.

i can still move the motor foward another 2" or so if needed.. im definetely switching over to bellstart on this boat

Got the drain holes done and cowl cut. Notice with the motor as far foward as it is, with the CC Racing billet isoblock using a 257 with full length needles and a needle clamp there are no clearance issues with the cowl.

(*main reason for cutting the cowl is i personally dont like full cowls on race boats, and there would be no way to cut the back out and have it look good with a 90 degree pipe setup anyway.)
